Usually replies in 1 to 3 days Editorial team responds directly

Spends Better is a small editorial site, and this page is where our readers reach us. We read every message we receive and reply to the ones that need a reply. Please read the short guide below before writing, since it helps us route your message to the right inbox and reply faster.

What kind of message is this?

  • A story idea or a topic request. Please write to [email protected]. Include the specific household situation you would like an article to address. We build our editorial calendar partly from reader questions.
  • A correction to an existing article. Please write to [email protected] with the article URL and the specific sentence or figure you believe is wrong. If you can link to a public source for the correct figure, that speeds the review to same-day.
  • An affiliate or sponsorship inquiry. Please write to [email protected] with your product, category, and what you have in mind. We accept a very small number of sponsorships and only when the product is relevant to a household-money reader.
  • A privacy request (data access, deletion, or a question about our Privacy Policy). Please write to [email protected]. Under GDPR and similar regimes we respond within 30 days.
  • Everything else. The form below reaches [email protected]. We aim to reply within three business days.

What we cannot do by email

We are not licensed financial advisors. We cannot give you individualized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice by email or through the contact form. If your question is about your specific situation (for example, “should I refinance my mortgage” or “how much can I put in an IRA this year”), please talk to a licensed professional. We can, however, point you to a general article on the topic if we have written one.

Response time

General messages: within three business days. Correction requests: within one business day. Privacy requests: within seven days (or 30 days under GDPR when the request requires a full data review). If you have not heard back after our stated window, please write again with “Second attempt” in the subject line. We would rather answer twice than not at all.

Where else to find our writing

All of our published articles live on The Journal. If you would like a weekly summary of what we published, the newsletter goes out on Sunday morning. We do not maintain social-media accounts; if you receive a message claiming to be from Spends Better on any social platform, it is not us.

Send us a message

All fields are required. We will only use your email to reply to your message.

Your message is read by a human, not a bot. See our privacy policy for how we handle it.
No spam. No newsletter sign-up. Just a real reply.
Before you write

A few quick answers

A handful of questions we receive most often. They might save you a step.

Will I get a real reply?

Yes. Every message routes to a person on our editorial team. We do not use auto-responders, and we will not add you to any list because you wrote in.

How long does it usually take?

Most messages get a reply within three business days. Editorial corrections often get priority. Press and partnership notes sometimes take five to seven days.

Can you give me personal financial advice?

No. Spends Better is an editorial publication, not a financial advisor. We can point you toward an article that touches on your question, but we cannot review your personal situation. For decisions that affect your specific finances, please speak with a qualified professional.

Do you accept guest writers?

Occasionally. Choose Writing for Spends Better in the topic dropdown and tell us a bit about what you would like to write and a sample of your published work.

How do I report an error in an article?

Use the form with the topic Correction or article feedback, or email [email protected] directly. Please link the article and quote the specific sentence that needs attention.
